As you may have already guessed, I was extremely busy this weekend since it was the fourth of July weekend, and there was a lot going on that kept me from writing. Today's post covers five days on the countdown though so it needed to be about something really good. That something really good is the family/great room.
Although tiring I will again compare it to my old house, where the family room was a glorified shoe box and other than housing our sectional, it didn't have much purpose. The family room in our new place is nearly double in size and will not only fit our sectional, but everything else I want in it too!
If you know me, then you know that my favorite holiday is Christmas. There is nothing better than bringing out all my decorations and having cinnamon scented candles fill the air. The one thing that I look forward to every year is setting up my village and pretending like it is a real place where people do nothing but sip hot chocolate and sit in front of fireplaces. When the sun goes down at 5pm I turn all the lights off, light up the village and stare for hours.
In addition, I will be able to have my Christmas tree up and not have to walk around it, or bump into it every time I go in and out of the room. I won't feel clostrophobic when my Christmas decorations are out, and won't feel rushed to put them away just so I can have room to breathe again.
Our family room is really big (19 by 16), and it will probably seem even larger since we won't have to use a TV stand as our TV is being mounted above the fireplace. I am so eager to cozy up on MY couch again, watch MY shows, and be in MY own family room!
I. CAN'T.WAIT :)
