Last night my friend Melissa and I went to the house to see if we could still get in - and although the front door was locked, the garage door was still unlocked! We were able to just kind of hang out in there for a while, which although probably bored her to tears, it was so exciting for me! I felt like I was just hanging out in my house...which made leaving somewhat sad. Oh well, less than three weeks now!!!
While we were in the house our builder, Bill, dropped by. I kind of think that he was popping his head in just to make sure a nosey neighbor or someone other than the owner wasn't in there - but once he saw it was me he asked me about the doornob color. He said that he thinks all the doors should be the antique bronze - so that's what we ended up going with. I'm actually going to miss working with these folks, they're all so nice!
After we left my house we went on a short walk before going into the mansion two doors over. I can't see much progress (on the inside) than when I went in there a few weeks ago, but their siding and roof is on so progress is definitely being made. Also, the house across the street from us went up! Scott and I hadn't been over to the area in almost an entire week - so to see a whole house framed already was quite the surprise. It is the same 'model' house as the mansion, but it isn't nearly as large since they didn't go with the bonus room. It's still 3,000 square feet though!
All in all, it was a great evening. It had been far too long since Melissa and I got together, and it was nice to see the future home of our Wednesday Wine Nights! I'm honestly looking forward to all the get-togethers we will have in that house....I am just running out of patience!
