I never thought i'd be so excited to set up all my utilities, especially since utilites aren't free! Today I tackled DirecTV and Time Warner for internet. Just those two took me over an hour between comparing and making sure I was selecting the right package.
We finally decided on DirecTV as our source of cable TV, and I am so excited because we get the NFL ticket for the entire 2011 season free of charge!!! (Let's just hope there IS an NFL season!) With the ticket you get every single football game, so you're not stuck watching whatever lousy game they are broadcasting in your area. My only concern is that I'm going to fall in love with being able to watch all the games that I will end up buying the ticket next year for a whopping $350 - yikes!
As our source of internet, we chose to go with Time Warner Cable. Since I work at home I opted for the "turbo" internet speed. It was the higher of the two options, but is needed since my job relies on the internet.
All in all I am very happy with our selections and hopefully tomorrow i'll tackle the electric and gas companies. Somehow those utilities just aren't as fun!
