So apparently I feel that the weekends don't count as countdown days, which I guess is a good thing since I realized today that we only have 43 more days left until we get our keys! Since today's countdown post covers three days I figured I would make it about something that really excites me, which is why I chose the attached garage.
Anyone who has ever a detached garage, or had to park outside and scrape off their cars, or lug groceries up and down the driveway or stairs could most definitely relate to how I feel about my attached garage. I've been through it all - I parked outside at my parents house, I parked outside at my apartment, I had a detached garage at my first house, I've lugged the groceries up and down the driveway, and up the staircase two flights. I'm ready. I'm ready to pull into my garage as It's pouring down rain or snowing two feet, and being dry, never having to "run into the house," or try catching a break in the storm. Never again will I be dreading grocery shopping because I have to carry all dozen bags up the stairs or down my driveway. This is a big deal to me - a huge deal, actually. Which is why it deserves a three day span on the countdown.
I will never take for granted having an attached garage, because it is something that I've never had before, and know just how much it means to have.
So, tonight I am going to drop off an anniversary card at my parents house (it's their 30th!), and then I'm going to swing by the house to check out any progress. I must admit, going there every day does get depressing - especially when little or no work gets done, but I just can't help myself! I'm crossing my fingers for a huge production day!
