#47 - The Front Yard

The front yard is something that most people take for granted. If you want to get my perspective, well then buy a really small house on a really small lot with no front yard, live in it for three or four years, and then you should understand why I am writing so much about the yard(s).
I am really glad that we have a large front yard, not only does it give me more real estate to put holiday decorations on, but it gives us space from our neighbors. The space from our neighbors really bothered me at our last house. I constantly felt like we were all living on top of one another.

Since today is Thursday I am hoping for a status update call from the builder (either Bill or Dan). They call on either Thursdays or Fridays depending on their schedules, and I am hoping to hear that maybe next week some of the flooring goes in. I know (from looking at other homes go up), that the hard flooring surfaces (laminate, tile, wood, etc) goes in pretty early, so maybe it will be next week! I love seeing the finishes we picked out go in the house!!!! Here are some of the finishes I am most excited about:

-The granite in the kitchen
-The slate around the fireplace
-The hardwood floors
-The light fixtures
-The master bath faucets

Words cannot possibly express how excited I am about our house - I am in love with it!
